The village of Tourbes is a small french village located south of France.
Pezenas
Pezenas is without doubt one of the most beautiful towns in Languedoc, if not the whole of South France. The best time to visit Pezenas is in the height of summer during the regular Friday night Estivale when all the shops in Pezenas stay open late, local vineyards are selling their wine on the streets and the old town is buzzing with life.
Cap d'agde

Montpellier

Meze
On the L'étang de Thau – Mediterranean, is the most beautiful little town with a picturesque harbour surrounded with fish restaurants and numerous narrow and meandering streets, beaches lie on both sides of the harbour. Meze is barely a 25 minutes drive from Villa Masefield, Meze is located on the Etang de Thau, an inland lake leading into the Mediterranean, the beaches are clean and the waters are shallow, crystal clear, safe and ideal for children.
L'étang de Thau
Famous for shell fish, particularly mussels and oysters, to quote Rick Stein “the best oysters in the World are found in the L'étang de Thau ” James Martin also raved about this area and the oysters in his recent TV programme. Try lunch or dinner at any of the many harbour restaurants in Meze or Bourzigues, but book in the high season and get there early or you could buy a dozen oysters from any of the Coquillage stalls on the Etang and take them back to Villa Masefield to enjoy on the terrace on a warm summers evening with a bottle of chilled Picpoul, the local white wine from the area, becoming really popular in the UK.
St. Guilhem le Desert
A stunningly picturesque medieval village is rated in the top 10 of France’s most beautiful villages and is a 25 minute drive from Villa Masefield, a drive that takes you meandering through vineyards before arriving at the Georges de Herault, drive over the Pont du Diable (The Devils Bridge) and within 5 minutes you arrive at St. Guilhem le Desert, prepare your selves for something really special! A further 5 minutes drive on from St. Guilham le Desert takes you to canoe centres where you can hire canoes and paddle through the Herault Gorges.
Lac du Salagou
An inland lake set amid stunning scenery is only 25 minutes drive from Villa Masefield, en route you pass through Clermont l’Herault famous for its medieval church and the regions main olive co-operative and shop also a Wednesday market.
